Roof Insulation
The
majority of our roof insulation is installed using
traditional mineral fibre mat to the appropriate
thickness. This material can be laid in one layer
or two layers fitted at right angles as required.
In circumstances where the roof pitch is very low
or if there is some other difficulty with access
we do have the facilities to blow in loose material
fibre to the correct depth and density. |

Roof Vents
Ventilation should
always be considered in conjuction with thermal insulations and draught
proofing as failure to do so could lead to problems with condensation,
and in most severe cases, mould growth. Miller Pattison install a range
of products including eaves, ridge and tile vents which can be fitted
when roof insulation is been upgraded. In most severe cases of condensation
an automatically controlled fan can be installed, which, by positive
pressure, forces moisture laden air out of the house. This measure can
have a dramatic effect on both the fabric on the building and the environment
for the occupiers.
Vertical/Overhead Insulation
Most situations can
provide a "warm room" construction where room insulation access is not
possible. Insulation can be fixed by way of support netting or alternatively
can be stapled into position to provide the degree of thermal efficiency
required maintaining the necessary ventilation between insulation and
the roof covering. Vertical studded walls can be insulated with batts
and visqueen applied later if required. Studded walls may be insulated
with dense slabs to provide a level of acoustic insulation between adjoining
rooms.
